Miss Rumphius - A Picture Book Study
When I worked as a speech-language pathologist, I loved to use well written picture books to address the goals for the language or articulation skills my students were working on. Now, I use these same picture books as part of our homeschool and want to share them with you. These books and activities can be used as part of your family's language arts curriculum or morning time/basket.
For these units, I have used my favorite picture books to create activities for all of the children in your homeschool that will encourage or reinforce your children’s language and reading skills. You will notice that most of the books are farm or outdoors-related. This is intentional because we love sharing our way of life and what better way than through a picture book!
Sections include Listen & Blend Sounds, Syllable Counting, Compound Words, Multiple Meaning Words, Sentence Reordering, Dictation/Copywork, Reading to Find Out, Word Scrambles, and Vocabulary.
I have also included links to videos for extended study on topics related to the story.
